Hadrian noticed Laren watching.  After a brief chat with Ashlyn, they both got up and went over to her.
	"Look, I know you think we're all weird, but I think we need your help and I need to know if you are willing to help." Hadrian looked at Laren.
	Laren sighed.  "I just don't know!  I don't even know what powers you are talking about.  I don't HAVE any powers."
	Ashlyn snorted in exasperation.  "Laren, will you just think a second?  Why do you think you got accepted to the Institution?"
	"I thought it was because I excelled in school."
	"Oh come on, why would your abilities be any better than the valedictorian of the school?  Don't you remember the tests you took to be accepted?  Those were subliminal tests to see how your mental abilities worked.  You scored the highest of just about anyone that has shown up here before except for Kyle."
	"Who's Kyle?" Laren asked.
	Hadrian responded. "A friend of ours who made it out of here and is trying to help us.  She said we need your help, and I happen to agree with her.  I get some pretty strong vibes from you."

The Dean, Charles Lawrence, watched the trio from his office where he had a monitor set up to watch whatever and whomever he pleased.  He did not like the fact that Hadrian and Ashlyn had so quickly made friends with Laren.  She was special and they were hoping that she was the link they'd been looking for for so long.  Lawrence decided he'd better have a chat with Laren and picked up his phone.  "Denise" he asked his secretary, "would you please have Laren Mathers report to my office?  Thank you."

Laren looked at Hadrian in some confusion.  "How can you know I have powers when I didn't even know it?"
Hadrian began to answer when they heard the page.  "Laren Mathers, please report to the Dean's office.  Laren Mathers to the Dean's office."  Hadrian and Ashlyn looked at Laren.  Laren had turned white and slowly got up and headed towards the door.  Hadrian put a hand out and stopped Laren.  "Just remember what I told you and really listen to what the Dean is telling/asking you.  Be careful!"  Laren just nodded and headed toward the office.
